Vaal University of Technology Library

The Library is the university’s information and knowledge centre where you find various information resources, both print and online to support learning, teaching, and research by Vaal University of Technology (VUT) students and staff. The Library plays a prominent role in the University and is regarded as the information hub of VUT, where you find books, journals, newspapers, reference materials, theses and dissertations, government publications, audio visual material, online databases and electronic journals. These are mainly related to courses offered by all faculties in the University.

The Faculty of Human Sciences is committed to the development, education and empowerment of communities by sharing knowledge, skills and resources within the fields:

Hospitality, Tourism and PR Management

The Department of Hospitality, Tourism and PR Management promotes excellence, inventiveness and innovation among students and staff. Offerings are in multidisciplinary fields of study with the purpose of preparing students with the expertise, commitment and skills for positions in the expanding tourism industry, hospitality sector and public relations management.

Communication 

The Department of Communication is a service department for all the academic departments within the University. Communication subjects are offered as integrated modules within all qualifications offered within the University’s academic structure. Practical applications enable students to work independently as well as interdependently, with the focus on functioning effectively in a public and professional capacity within the multilingual and multicultural society of South Africa.

Legal Sciences

 The Department  of Legal Sciences presents all discipline-specific law and safety subjects to students registered for qualifications presented by other departments and faculties.

Education

The Department of Education addresses persistent issues of urgent concern to the field, for improving teacher education policy and practice.
